Dog Days of Summer

CALLING ALL DOGS AND YOUR PEOPLE!!!

SAVE THE DATE! THE ANNUAL WHATCOM HUMANE SOCIETY’S
DOG DAYS OF SUMMER FESTIVAL IS
SUNDAY, AUGUST 29 @ 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Join us for the biggest, best, most FUN Dog Days of Summer Festival to date. Activities include: pet themed vendors, canine contests and games, activities, an animal caricaturist, vegetarian food trucks, music and more! Best of all, as always, entrance and admission to the Dog Days of Summer Festival will be FREE!

Monies raised at the Whatcom Humane Society’s Dog Days of Summer Festival benefit the domestic, wild and farm animals in our care. Thank you for your support!

Location:

The 9 acre field behind the Whatcom Humane Society Division Street Shelter – 2172 Division Street, Bellingham

Parking:

Parking available at the following neighboring businesses (Two Paws Up and THANKS to them for their support!): Builder’s Alliance, Western Forest Products, Greenbrier Construction, Matrix Services. Look for parking attendants and signs.  Parking is limited, so plan accordingly, leave extra time to find parking and please bring your patience!   ADA Parking is available at WHS shelter.

Note: We DO NOT offer shuttle services to and from the DDS festival area – which can be a bit of a walk from parking areas.  The festival is held on a grass/dirt field where the ground can be uneven.

Events Reminders:

To make sure that both human and canine attendees have the best day ever – please follow these guidelines: Please keep your dog leashed at all times and pick up after your dog. Extra “poop bags” will be available at the WHS booth.

DO NOT bring reactive / aggressive dogs to the DDS event.
DO NOT bring unvaccinated dogs to the DDS event.
NO NOT bring female dogs in heat to the DDS event.

Please note: Due to space limitations, we are only able to offer vendor booths to event sponsors, animal related businesses, animal related causes and animal welfare advocacy and rescue groups (with valid 501(c)3 status).  Dog Trainers wishing to have a vendor booth must train using only positive, reward based training methods.  Food vendors must commit to serving only vegetarian food at this event. Thank you. WOOF!

IS YOUR DOG LICENSED? If so, see one of the WHS Animal Control Officers at the DDS event and collect a prize. One prize per licensed dog – while supplies last!

Animal Caricaturist @ 11:00 am – 2:30 pm

Steve, the super pawsome and talented caricaturist, will draw a picture of your pup on paper for a donation to WHS or purchase a special Dog Days tee shirt and have your dog’s picture drawn on it.  Cool!

Stop by the Whatcom Humane Society booth as you enter and leave the DDS summer event and pick up some paw-some swag, information and other great items. And don’t forget to get your pets photo taken at the photo booth, next to the WHS booth.

COVID SAFETY AT DOG DAYS:

Hand sanitizer and masks will be available at the WHS booth at all food vendor booths at at the DDS beer garden.  Please maintain social distancing while attending and enjoying the Dog Days of Summer Event.  If not fully vaccinated for COVID-19, please wear a mask or face covering.
