DOG DAYS SUPPORTS WHATCOM HUMANE SOCIETY
Proceeds from the Dog Days of Summer event benefit the Whatcom Humane Society. Last year, WHS provided comfort and care for over 4,000 domestic and native wild animals throughout Whatcom County. As an open-admission shelter, WHS turns no animal away, regardless of the animal’s breed, medical or physical condition, age or temperament. WHS provides 24 hour a day animal control and rescue services for Whatcom County. The shelter operates a wildlife rehabilitation center as well as a farm facility for horses and other livestock. WHS offers a number of ongoing community outreach and humane education programs throughout Whatcom County including a low-cost spay/neuter program and pet food bank.
